My APU starts and dies in less the 5 seconds. In the cab an Error code "56Y" comes up. Its an Thermo King TriPac on my 04 Volvo. I am going to go over the manual again. I am going to take a look at it tomorrow since we are packing the reefer up today. If anyone can find error codes for Tripac's that would be great.
Thanks!

Mine tells you the problem before it shuts down, like "check oil level or pressure sending unit" "overheating" "low coolant level" or whatever. Mine's not a Tripac however.
I'd check all your fluid levels, air cleaner, fuel filter and water separator. -
I had the same problem, it was a loose fuel line. Runit over to dealer, most of the dealers I went to did not charge me just to look at it. The fuel line was fixed for free, and they had to take the truck apart to get to the APU.
Good Luck and safe miles.

Thanks, so you got the same error right?

i do not have any APU, but i am trying a search for you. some are saying that the a/c is leaking freon and shutting them down. do you have your a/c turned on then it shuts down.....?? if so, shut it off an restart the APU see what happens. apparently the installers are twisting the a/c seals during the installation process.

No i just turn on the APU and the error code pops up and I cannot click or turn anything on. Only thing It lets me do is shut it off.

Ok, I went to take a look at the APU and saw R 134A on the side. Its an Yanmar engine (China).
The R-134A is the Refrigerant.
Theres a switch that turns it on inside, but there is also one in the cab.
Yanmar engine model is 2TNV70-PTRLast edited: Aug 19, 2010

I flicked the switch on the inside the of the APU and not a sound. Probably electrical problem? -
