i am going to trucking school on sep 6 and all the trucking companies want verifiable employment. i worked for stepdad doing treework last 2 years so does that count? No paperwork or taxes, just under the table. Could i just get stepdad to write a letter or talk to employr. or do they just mean trucking emlpoyment?
is under the table work considered verifiable

Get him to write you a letter.
-
yeah under the table means no records therefore is generally not verifyable. Your step dad should write a letter.

I had to bring my business license. Or a copy of it
I am self employed. See if he will write you a letter and if he has a business licence a copy would be helpful. My licence cost $ 50.00 and will make it look legitimate.. -
Even work under the table must be claimed !!
So, you paid the taxes on it, right ???
Then you have a tax return as proof also................. -
-
That would be illegal, no...........

I just got the business license in March and haven't paid taxes on it because its not the end of the year.
I no a friend who didn't file for a couple years and brought his 10/99 in that means he is responseable for paying uncle Sam him self with no taxes taken out -
yeah, pawnstar, that really sucks for your friend. if he got a 1099 then he has to pay. My stepdad never gave me one. If he did, i would have got another job cause i don't have the disipline to save money and pay taxes. i would make a really bad lease operator. i can't keep records or pay taxes.
ok so i'll get him to write a letter. Thanks for the help folks
