I've gone through basically the same thing...only different. LOL
At any rate, no...it won't keep you from getting your CDL unless the Department of Child Support Enforcement puts in an order to do so. Then it will be on the National Drivers Registry. That can be fixed...but a real pain in the rear.

Sorry but why not pay back your obligation to your child. I know is 15000 is a lot of money but you owe it to your child. Man up and pay it. Guess you figured your ex could raise your child with out your help but I,m sure you still had your car, truck, boat, 4 wheeler, big house, and other toys to pay for so why didnt you pay for the best thing in your life your child?

I didn't see that he said he had an issue paying it, just needs to get income coming in again to be able to pay it.

Here is a prime example of something that causes me to SLAM........
This is the mentality that has created so many men to be called "dead-beat dads. Narrow-minded. GRRRRRRR Come here, let me put my arm around your shoulder and we can go and TALK about this.
I can understand the situation because I am in it. I have paid my child support and due to unforeseen circumstances I have fallen a bit behind a time or too. But I CAN tell you that these child support laws need to be rewritten. I paid $1500 a month per child...and I have two. I had a bit of hard times in the early 2000's and lost most of what I had due to an individual embezzling. The way that the laws are written...big deal for me. No compassion. At any rate...I'm venting..and not saying much constructive..so......I'll go.

I knew someone would take the simplistic view of ( why don't you just pay it ?)Must have missed the part about the bankruptcy. That was after I lost my home, truck, and the rest of it .No one can know what it feels like to lose it all until it happens to you, and I pray it never does. I posted not looking for sympathy, just advice.

what i would do re child support. is i would talk to the court and come to arrangement, most courts are willing to work with you. some will even reveiw the amount paid. if you work with the court most of the time will work with you if you have a plan. and talk to them. i was 30,000 in arrears. i went to court got all interest removed, and penalities. actually got my payments reduced.

Simplistic view? You decide not to support your childeren. Ouote When I divorced six years ago I had my own business, and was making alot of money Quote Like most other guys in constrution make a lot of money buy a bunch of toys and dont plan on slow times. If you had planed on slow times you would have saved some money. But why would you do that? I love it that you feel that I'm picking on you. LoL The only pepole that have been pick on are your kids by you.

Jeddomike your really a disgruntelled ex wife arint you. I to have had dealings with support inforcement they will not work with you they will flat tell you if you dont pay we will take everything you have and put you in jail. they could care less if your living in a ditch as long as you pay. And the funny thing is the children only see a small part of the money. in my state support inforcement is mandated to show no cost to taxpayers. You can take your off handed coment about construction workers and stick it were the sun dont shine . I have 32 yrs in construction own my home outright andpaying on two rental properties.its funny you read what you want to of his post and ignore the rest maybe you should have somone read it to you so your comprehention level will increase

I have a question about my boyfriends driving record. We just got our CDLs & we plan to drive team. We REALLY want to drive for US Express but his record isn't the cleanest. In 2006 he got a refusal. He fought it & won. but he did plead guilty to a reckless driving. The refusal isn't on his mvr. So I was wondering if he should even tell about it. Also his license was automatically suspended for it but I'm thinking it doesn't really count as a suspension since he was found not guilty.? I don't know. He also got 2 tickets at the same time in 2008 for failure to keep in proper lane & improper passing in no passing zone. I'm wondering if these are going to hinder our chances of a good job.
