CR England Question

I looked at them today and didn't like this:

Once you have completed your training program you can choose your own career path.

Your options are:

• Lease your own truck and become an independent contractor running your own business
• Lease your own truck with a six-month demo lease
• Remain as a second seat at 13 cents a mile and continued company benefits

 

well, what can o say that you already know........??

for the most part, you gotta start someplace. if you like what you read or they tell you, then go with them, get your time in, and be done with it. the pickings for jobs can and will be slim at times. best not to wait for another company to offer you a job, that might NOT materialize.

 

I would not recommend obtaining your CDL training through a Carrier. They are not doing you any favors.

 

I've never driven for England, so I can't speak from direct knowledge or experience. However, it has been my experience that the most unhappy drivers I've spoken to over the years are from England.
Most common complaints? they don't keep their promises. they don't get the miles. they can't make any money.
I had two drivers that worked for me when I had my company that came from England. both went thru the CDL school there, both were good drivers, both were pretty mild mannered until you mentioned England.
Then it was, "Katie, bar the door!"
Personally, I'd look around somewhere else.

Talk to different people and you'll get different answers. I've only talked to a couple England drivers and both I spoke with were pretty pleased with their situation. One was a lease guy and the other a company driver.
Go figure...

 

I had a guy tell me he had to wait 6 weeks after orientation to get a solo seat... but he could do a lease/purchase the same day and get on the road.

What a scam...
