Launching in the morning!
I have posted a little about my training and experience, all future posts will be on this thread. Here is a bit of a recap,I graduated from Katlaw trucking school on 11/12/10.A three week course,if you had told me that I'd be any good at driving my 1st week,I'd call you a lier...Well by the 2nd day of my 3rd week..presto!Day of test I really got nervous and tried real hard to turn it into an epic fail..DDS guy was not hearing it and neither would I,so I gutted it out and passed..
Now,my job..I had done alot of research on what company I wanted to work for. This took about 6 months, when I got to school the company that was choosen had also chose me!Nice,so after the 1st week I had a oreintation date set up for 11/22 at Roehl.I gave myself a week to take my CDL a 2nd time or relax at home.
On Monday the 22nd I reported to orientation in Ellenwood Ga.
1st day was drug test, agility test and driving test.
2nd day was videos DRG(Driver reference guide)Which any company policy can be found and is awsome!
3rd day was paper work and we got our cards.
I am forgetting some stuff, like Qualcom and CSA10,and how to log.
Alot was focussed on safty, protective driving.Which was eye opening because I was a uber defensive driver before I got my CDL and figured that would serve me well at any company..Roehl training rather you be a protective driver, and I agree..
So we are caught up,got a call from my trainer today and he sounds like he is going to be a pleasure to work with and learn from.Tomorrow morning I launch!
This has been a great experience so far and I have yet to be disapointed by Roehl,I am glad all the research paid off.
My motto is still "expect the worst and hope for the best".
With a little planning this can be a positive career move.
Feel free to ask any questions and I will keep posting here about my adventures out there...Last edited by Hamsterrock74; 11.30.2010 at 07.09 PM.

Hamsterrock74, Way to go buddy.
Your the first of our team in the field. I don't know what time you roll out tomorrow but make sure you get plenty of rest tonight. The first day could be somewhat demanding in that you may be getting a lot of information thrown at you at once. Stay focused, watch your corners, and drive the trailer.
I'll be looking forward to reading more of your exploits.
Good luck tomorrow. You'll do just fine.
