I am not a Class A holder but I have had my class B for 14 yrs. If you are going to go to school to get your license get your A. Then you can always drive a class B vehicle. But having my B now it is not very easy to find work with just that. Also if you thank you might be looking to drive class B vehicles, when you get your license get your passenger endorsement as well. That will allow you to drive busses as well.

If you are going to school, get the full deal. With as many endorsements as you can (except hazmat, personally I think that one is only worth it if you use it, the law looks at you in a different light) and get it done. Then drive a B truck locally if that's what you wanna do.

If you are going to spend the money on schooling then be fully prepared to make the sacrifice and drive over the road for awhile. Not to sound negative but it is highly unlikely you will get a local job right out of school. Before the economy was bad it was a little more probable to do that but now jobs are scarce and they will surely want experienced drivers if any to fill those positions. If you are totally against going out on the road then I would not spend the money on school. It will be a big waste of money and time. Go and get your class B to start and see how long it takes you to get a job that way. Good luck to you.

I agree with chompi. It will be hard to find a job with no experience. Its not impossible ,but unlikely. I would suggest getting in 3-6 months solo then start looking while you are still employed.

As for CDL-B jobs, there are alot of different jobs. They usually pay at least equal or more then a CDL-A job. Driving a trash truck, concrete mixer, dump truck, lumber truck, etc can all pay very well plus get you home every night and on weekends.

    Good Luck.

Or call comcar and learn what they offer, if you'd like to Know your family.

Why go out for weeks on end..........after what you spend on the road, you can make the same money local !!

    Give it some thought !!

I don't know much about fl but I've only driven locally in my career so it is possible to find local work straight out of school. Ppl told me the same thing u have to go otr when u get out of school, but u don't. I would start going online now and Start calling around to different companies. just ask them about their hiring process. I started with Conway.
