God forbid a newbie should be thankful for some helpful information that might save his life someday...

BTW, I've never heard it called that... ;)

That's real good! It's been quite some time since I've pulled a reefer. This can come in handy for some future point!

I've had loads that have been T-called at the terminal, but don't believe I've seen this in reference to reefers.

Thanks for helping an old dry van puller like me.

Chompi, do you pull a reefer?

    Thanks,
    Mike

If you're talking about Swift, a T-call is a transfer. The driver with the load will take the load to terminal/drop yard, drop the load. The load will then be assigned to another truck for the delivery. Hence T-call (transfer).

    Moosetek13 Thanks this.

When I did the big company thing, I T-called many loads at truck stops when a driver ran outta hours or had a break down.

I ran reefer for KLLM and “T-Call” and/or “Re-Power” at that company meant transfer the load to another truck for a variety of reasons including solo driver out of HOS or break down, etc. A temperature check was just called Temp Check or whatever the Macro number was at the time. They used “L-call” but, I honestly can’t remember exactly what that was. Possibly checking locks and seals on HV (high value) loads???

    You said it before me.

I have even transferred (t-called) a load at a truck stop.
