HI!
I forgot my password and always used the 'auto fill', but then updated my iPad and it erased all my password info... Just got back! Also doing a bunch of reading in FB... LOTS of good info... But I miss reading/posting here too, so I'll try to split my efforts.
We are still rolling, and learning, but still have a ways to go! More later, when I'm not suppose to be sleeping, so I can drive tonight123456 Thanks this. -

Now for an update... Just finished my shift driving, so need to unwind a bit before sleeping...
We are now on our 36th load since we started running under our own authority. Do we make more $$ now? Not yet, but we are working on it. Do we regret leaving Central/Swift? For the steady income, a bit;but for the lack of micro managing and punitive encouragement, not at all!! Do we know it all yet? Oh heck no! We are trying, but it is a steep learning curve, and if you don't get it quickly, your business WILL go under! One step I wish we would have taken (and hind sight is 20/20) is to run under someone else's authority, or lease on to a place where we were paid a percentage. Then we would have had more of a clue re: lanes and rates. Thankfully I ran across several FB pages that have an awesome amount of information! With out those, and the people on them, we probably would have sunk by now.
Our vision for the future is to find two to three places to concentrate our service with. Be they a small broker servicing a small number of local shippers, or a direct shipper. Notice the word LOCAL though... With these last 36 loads, we haven't spent much time at 'home'. Now WE can choose what load we take and where we go. These last few loads. Have been for a smaller trucking company that brokers out some of the over flow loads, and they are relatively local. We're going to do a face to face to see what their needs are, and let them know what our needs are... Not sure what will happen after that, but looking forward to finding out -
Waiting on our 41st load to be loaded on the trailer... We've been aiming at unloading in AM, load in PM, run over night and do it again... So far so good... Went from Central Valley, to S.Cal... Had to get back up to the house for a family member visit on Saturday/Sunday so dead headed back to Central... Hopped over the hill for our next load, took that to S. Cal... Got one 17 miles away heading back to NV... Unloaded and now waiting to be loaded for a trip to Phoenix... All we need now is a load from Phoenix back up to the Carson City area, so we can do it all again
123456, TruckDuo and thePUNISHER Thank this. -
