I have some questions about the showers at truck stops.

    1) Do most of the truck stops have private showers? Do some have big shower rooms like you would see in high school?

    2) How much does it cost? Do you have a "time limit"? This way I don't have to worry about rushing to shower and shave at the same time.

    3) Do all truck stops just have showers? Are there any that have bath tubs? :biggrin_2559:

    1) Yes, not that I have seen yet.
    2) Usually about $10 without a fuel purchase. Not usually, be considerate though.
    3) Pretty much. Haven't seen one yet. Motels do though.

    ok....

YES...PRIVATE, with a locking door..there might be some "2 person showers for husband/wife's (or what ever floats someone's boat)

it USED to be free if you fueled up with about 50 gallons. then they raised that limit. if you did not fuel up, you would give $20 deposit, then when done, they gave you back $15.00

there is a limit, usually 30 minutes, at least this is what i had been told, but no one ever bothered me. maybe because many times, i'd be showering in the "off hours" of demand....like 10 PM, 2 AM, 6 AM

now i have heard there may actually be a charge for showers now. someone else can tell you.

no tubs that i know of. and too, some truck stops DO NOT even have showers.......but i think that'll be the small places.

well they covered it all so now you have the clean scoop on the showers at the truck stops.

but one thing not all t/s showers are created equal...some are small some are large, and a general rule of thumb I've found is that if the truck stop is filthy...so are the showers.....

Most are free with 50 gallons. The chains usually charge 10 bucks without fuel. Ma and pa's 3-5 bucks. I have never heard of a time limit.

Little America # exit 66 in Wyoming has tubs.

The concern a new driver should have is having to park and shower # the cheap ### dirty Pilots because their fuel is cheap.

I've found that Petro's generally have pretty clean showers, and roomy. TA's about the same. Flying j's can be a challenge getting good water pressure AND hot water AND a wash cloth along with towels all at the same time, good luck finding a Pilot without at least one of the above being absent.

Most all showers have a toilet, sink, place to sit and locking doors. They are private of course so you have the whole thing to yourself. If you fuel with 50 gallons generally, they are free. Swipe your rewards card at time of fueling and the shower credit is applied to the card. So, within 5 days or 7 days (depending on the truck stop chain) you can get that shower.

In my short time so far the shower has become an oasis of sorts. A place to chill, relax and shi~, shave and shower. To get clean again, to become human after a day or two (or three if exceedingly busy) of long hours and no showers. Anti-bacterial wipes can only make you feel so-so clean/refreshed, btw. Showers are something I look forward to.
