I am supposed to leave Tuesday for Transam and recieved a call from Roehl, where they told me that they want me to start the first week of Feb. Where should I go? Please, any suggestions or advise. I am brand new to trucking (just finished school) and only know what I have read about these companies. Thanks.

GO TO ROEHL!!!!!! AVOID TRANS AM LIKE THE PLAUGE!! From everything you can find out about Trams Am there is really no way I'd go there. Roehl may be slow trucks but they take safety seriously from what I've heard.

All I know is Roehl has a really cool website. Hamsterock has a thread going right now as he's in the middle of his time with his Roehl trainers.

thanks again for the help. There are so many companies and if you read their websites, they're all the best! Leaning toward Roehl, haven't really read or heard much bad about them. I figure if I do a year learning the business and the companies, then if I need a change I'll be in a better situation.

Job hopping in trucking is looked at the same as the real world. I don't know who started the rumor, but it is never good to have a lot of employers on your record. There's no reason you cannot find a company in which you will be happy to work for and make good money from the get go! If you already have it in your head that you are only going to do a year, then that is most likely what will happen. Do yourself a favor and go the extra mile now! Take a little time and do some extensive research. Land the good driving job first shot and put in many good successful years with them!

With that being said, I am not at all bashing Roehl or whoever. If you strongly feel that this is the right company then go for it! Don't flip a coin though and expect good results. Good luck to you!
