    CB channels?

Hi all, got a quick question. What is a standard cb channel used in the usa? Ive been running canada only so far and now will be heading to the states for the first time. Just wondering what a common working channel is and a common chat channel. Thanks

    Mainly channal 19.

in california....I-5 drivers use #15 from the mexican border north to hwy 43....then its channel 17 on the I-5 from hwy 43 in CA all the way to the canadian border in WA. Other than that....channel 19 everywhere else.

These activities need to get away from truck stops, rest areas, and all things trucking. I don't care what people do, but don't bring this image on the trucking community.

I know you're probably just stating a fact. But I'm just sayin', in general.

I guess I should have found one of a race-neutral individual as well as gender-neutral. I can see the accusations already flying so I'll remove the pic.

A note about CA. A lot of drivers on channels 15 and 17 won't talk to you if it is obvious you are not from the area. So a lot of OTR drivers stay on 19 even throughout CA. It is kind of a pain though if there is an accident or something, and you need info, having to flip back and forth trying to figure out what is going on.

You've never heard someone on the CB say, "...24..........24." or another number between 1-40 that oddly enough could coincidentally be a channel to turn to. Then you turn to that channel (don't worry, noone's going to know you did) and then listen for the "anyone make it?" question and then wait and hear for responses?

It's like spying on some underground activity where you're looking around at other trucks thinking "now who could be the one talking?"
