I just thought I would put this up. My wife and I used WIA money to get our CDL's and become a team. Originally we were going to drive for Watkins Shepard but we ended up with US Xpress. I just thought that there may be a bunch of people, couples in particular, who are doing what we are doing.

Good luck to you! I'm getting married later this year, and would love to have my wife join me on the road. I know she would be a great driver (as she is a good car driver and very alert) plus she is a night owl, and I hate driving at night. I will follow your blog. Be safe!
P.S. My future wife has never given it much thought, until my old co-driver ask her for some help on his taxes. He and his wife have been a company team for about 2 years and made about $125,000 combined last year. Now every once in a while she will ask about the trucking life in general...lolscottied67 Thanks this. -
Thanks for posting. My wife and I are thinking about doing the same thing, just waiting for the economy to turn around. I have listed your bog on my favorites and will be reading with great interest Good luck.
Stay safe out there.

OO,
Freight volume is climbing every month, some of the best team companies like Conway & Schneider can not hire enough qualified teams.00 buckshot Thanks this. -
from what i see you can make almost as much solo, and you don't have to try to sleep in a moving trk, i'd sure like to know who the ppl who made 125k was driving for, most companies offer .44 split, i dunno, i'd definately would have to team with the opposite sex with benies

just curious, from what I read here, WS would be the first choice for many.
what made you choose US Xpress?
Better team package? closer to home?
and I will check out your blog, I always enjoy reading them.

Fugrwnmn,
Thats total money to the the truck (they are a husband wife team), all miles. They average average about 5800-6000 miles a week on a dedicated run. plus bonuses.
So..... 5800 x 44 = 2552.00 x 50 weeks a year = $127,600.00
I know they make slightly more then .44 plus bonus and now after 2 years they take more then just 2 weeks off. Its a good deal when all the money is going to the same household. They also both do 12 hr shifts on duty and dont play around. This keeps on that dedicated run and allows them to take ample time off. -
