I was just wondering if anyone knew a site that had the most realistic practice test for the written test? After studying the Tennessee cdl study guide and taking those tests..it seems rather easy.....TOO easy. So I decided to cross reference some other sites.
Here is the site I went to first, since I'm from TN:
http://tennessee.gov/safety/driverlicense/cdlpracticetest.htm
but then just to cross reference I went to:
http://www.cristcdl.com/otc/
As you can see, the 2nd one seem way more in depth. Am I gimping myself studying the TN version. I have planned on getting permit then attending a voc school to get the rest of the training.
So if anyone gets time..try to take that first one and THEN try to take the very first part of the knowledge...which one seems the most like the real deal?

no matter how much you read and practice, 99.99% of answering those questions comes down to common sense....further, ALL states "rotate" thier question base, so you could practice till the cows come home, go for the test, and absolutely nothing you practiced on will be in the actual tests.... -
Careful on the Crist tests... some of the information/answers are outdated and/or just plain wrong.
When I was doing it, I actually found the best online tests to use for practice were the ones on CRST's website. -
Most of what questions you see in the TN manual is what you'll see on the real test. I'd say a good 90% are. They are multiple choice and two choices are retarded. It's harder to fail than pass. Learn the whole manual but emphasize on them questions.

The WI test for the permit wasn't hard either. People are making this harder than it needs to be.

When I got mine, I studied the Pennsylvania manual by sections and then would answer the review questions in there. For example I would study the air brake section then do the air brake review questions. Then I would go online to take some practice tests. I figured if I could do well on the review questions in the book I'd be ok. The practice tests were reassuring though. Some of the places I used were:
http://www.testprepreview.com/cdl_practice.html
http://richtruckdriver.com/cdltest.php
http://www.truckingtruth.com/cdl-test/cdl-test-practice.html
I'm sure there are more out there but these will help ya get the idea. But it's like everyone else here has said, if ya read your home states manual, you'll be ok! That's the best thing to go by!
Best of luck! -
Lilbit Thanks this.
