I always thought there was some kind of code or conduct when coming into a truck stop, but it seems its every man/woman for himself. The other day I, like many other truck drivers, pulled into a T/A to get a 10 hour break, there was one spot left in the whole place and I was coming around to get it when this !##$hole in a bobtail runs in and takes the spot. I just want to say that if your bobtailing, go park at a circle K or something, save the big spots for the big boys. KAPEESH!:biggrin_25510:

Haha I had one spot stolen from me the other night as well. MY main complaint is no one seems to pick one spot to travel in. I pulled into a Loves and wow trucks coming right at me,trucks coming around me on both sides and so on. I had to just stop the truck until all the traffic was gone even know I had the right away,

I'll bet it was George Castanza, he did that to me one time.

    Sorry to hear about it.

I also try to park in the appropriate spot. The worst ones are when the bob-tail spots are open and here's some bob-tail backed into a full-size spot, and he's backed in far enough that it looks at first like no one is in the spot.

    rocknroll nik Thanks this.

Most of the truckstops have started to enforce the parking of bobtails out of the car and RV spots.

I went to Waco J to park and full semi's and bobtails were everywhere in the car and RV area. Had to use the RV pumps to stop and go to the restroom.

T/A Denver east has a huge bobtail parking, when it's full they will let the bobtails park int he car/rv parking in the front lot, but only one portion of it.

I ran into a bad situation at the pilot on I-35W exit 65 north of Ft Worth the other night, I was bobtail at the time I finally found a small cubby hole and backed into it. I got woke up about 0100 to go get an empty trailer. I finally got back to this pilot about 90 minutes later and just decided to park on the exit ramp, not smart I know, but that was really all I could do. Dang its getting hard to find a place to get in that 10 hour break. :biggrin_25513:
