CRST Contract Length
I am looking at going through SAGE for my education. The director has a relationship that will get me into CRST. Since I am paying for my education expenses, will CRST require that I sign a contract to stay with them for a specified period? Any idea on how long the contract could be?

They will if you request, or are part of, the Tuition Reimbursement program. It, IIRC, should be about 8 months long.
There are several thread on the subject here.

His relationship with them is in the form of finders fee's and kickbacks that they give him.
They will take any warm body that has a CDL from most areas. So will all the other large carriers.

I have never understood why companies want to charge you for the Opportunity to make them money..?
What a racket to get into. Do you know of any other profession where the employer charges you to work there? I have my CDL and have had it since 1985. I recently applied for a company, but because I had not been on the road for 6 years they wanted me to go through their school and charge me for it. I said no of course, and told them that I would not be paying anyone as I already have my CDL class A with all endorsements and would not Pay for the Privilege to make them money. They didn't seem to understand that....

Yup. I worked for a short time for a large, well known commercial real estate firm and had to pay for my training.Do you know of any other profession where the employer charges you to work there?

Ok, now is there anything positive about SAGE Trucking. It is funny, I thought about those things too. I need to do more research.

I had to have my license before applying to work at the company. The training I had to pay for was the company provided sales training. Even if I had been a highly experienced real estate sales person, I still had to pay to take their training.
