USA Pay Problems?

I have read in several of the posts that there are pay problems and differences between what miles are driven and what are paid. Can some of you that have experience in this field give us wannabees a clue as to what the confusion is?

Re: Pay Problems?

some companies pay the actual miles driven from point a to point b, other companies pay zip code to zip code, some pay practical miles, miles that are figured between to points by a computer program....it is best to ask any perspective employer which method they use to compute pay, and to keep track of the miles you drive so that you can be sure your not being shorted.

Re: Pay Problems?

The companys that pay zip code to zip are the 1's to look out for because you will get paid for 700 miles and they'll give you routing for 876 which means you get shorted 176 miles.

at the very least, get practical long miles, not practical short miles or house hold guide which is zip to zip. A few companies pay actual hub miles on yuor hub or dash speedometer,if they pay you this way ,check your speedo on a highway mile marker to milemarker, truck companies try to cheat you on this alot,,check it if you are paid off hub miles.

are some pretty good realities but it is just plain facts you are probably going to get paid for about 90% of your miles it is normal not right mind you but normal to loose 10% of your miles they take those for fueling getting lost ect.. what ever the reason we are never paid for all driven miles nor all the work done...

When I worked for Wenger I had a terrible time with my Qualcomm....the darn thing would not work period after I left the yard......It developed this difficulty after it reported me for doing 139 MPH. Very strange, quit working as soon as we left the yard and worked just fine when we pulled into the yard. Lots of time in the shop, replaced the Qualcomm twice.......just couldn't get it to work.......

Just had to make sure the fuses found their way back in when I pulled into the yard......
