I heard if you work for a trucking company, some of them will cover the cell phone bill for you and some only cover half the bill, is that true?

WHAT company pays your cellphone bill? That would be a nice perk! (Even though I don't see that happening)

We're issued a company phone which they pay the bill but you can only call the job or fellow workers.

Cell phones are so cheap and common now I doubt many companies worry about it. My husband's company will pay back for calls that he has to make, but he doesn't even bother with the paperwork, I think it is like $0.75 per call or something.

When deciding which company to go with, don't let a $50 perk blind you to the big picture.

My company provides us with a phone (Verizon I-Phone) that has internet access and E-mail that we use. Along with a bunch of other garbage I don't use.

I have never received a bill for any service on the company phone. I have a personal cell phone for everything else.

Most trucking companies barely pay your rent...

Your company supplies an Apple iPhone? Wow!

I drove for one company many years ago when cells were coming online in the pocket flip type and I had one through AT&T but before they had that unlimited stuff. The company I had just hired on with were installing Qualcomm but for some reason even after I said great no more phone calls they ran my cell bill out the roof because they apparently couldn't freaking read a typed message or thought I couldn't, even after telling them I had been using QC for a few years after Highway Master!

Oh yeah we'll pay your bill but of course I had to fight tooth and nail and they only decided to pay it when I quit answering the silly thing! Then I quit and went to TA which was another big mistake! LOL

in the industry i'm leaving now (due to layoff) they provide not only a cell phone but one with all the bells and whisyles as well......they want to be able to contact us at any time or for us to be available for customer needs 24/7.....really it's just so that we as management aren't able to hide from the higher-ups in case things don't go as planned.......

it's sure one of the things i'm going to miss about this job once it's over......i'm not expecting any trucking company to give me a phone when i'm out there....

when I was calling around looking for jobs, some would provide a phone with XX number of minutes and text messaging. you could upgrade if you wanted, but that was all the company would pay for. others said they reimbursed or gave flat rate for phone bill per month. others said no phone provided, but Qualcomm in truck to access dm 24/7.
the company I ended up with, some folks are provided a paid phone with text, others are not. where I am they are trying to get away from the provided phone. my job is still having trouble breaking dispatch from using personal cell phones habit, not everyone has the unlimited or mega minutes package. but is one local competition here still provides phone cause they want you on call 24/7.
