Need advice about Sage/Certificate please!

    Hi folks,

    I was wondering if I could get some advice regarding obtaining a CDL through Sage technical school in MT.

    I went in the other day and spoke with the head trainer, and he explained they either have the "full" $3,600 package where you get a certificate.. or an "À la carte" package where they sell 4hr blocks of training for $400. He stated I could probably do 4-6 blocks of training and be fine to pass the cdl...but NO certificate. He mentioned some major companies (Sanjel, etc.) want to see the certificate...but that I would need to research on my own as to what companies such as oil field companies really look for a certificate.


    So..do I pay the extra 1k-1.5k and get the certificate?


    Any input would be greatly appreciated!

    No...I do not. My biggest concern is securing employment, and after hearing about their price packages I was a little confused.

    I went to Sage in March. I wasn't offered a program such as that but I wouldn't have taken it anyways. They training is PTDI certified. Some employers look highly on it others could care less.

    Yeah, the certificate means you completed the WHOLE school, as opposed to "a la carte", less school, but enough to get your license. Employers will want the certificate, unless you have a potential job with Farmer Fred who just wants you to get your license.
