ProStars are small as hell with wise. I'm training in a 2011 prostar and I'm only 5.9 i have a good amout of foot room but i have a very wide upper body build (broad shoulders) and every time I move around when I'm sleeping I'm constantly banging my elbows into the lower cabinet and the hvac controls

Hey rerun I have no problem Googling stuff but I haven't deal with ppl not Helping is rather get real experience than some stat sheet numbers. and the Prostar is a small truck depending on the wheelbase
-
unless a driver took ACTUAL measurements, (and who does) you WOULD BE better off getting the EXACT specs from the manufacturers website. if you are going to be a company driver, you get what they give you. if you are going to be a lease operator, and you choose solely on bunk size, you may be short changing yourself on engine/transmission/ and maybe fuel tank capacity as well..
further according to your bio, you have a years worth of experience..?? what have you been driving all this time..??
or are you even a driver yet..?? are you deciding which company to go to work for solely by bunk size, forgoing perhaps pay and benefits..?? if you cannot stretch out in a sleeper..?? put pillows under your head to raise yourself up a bit, allowing for more room..
i mean i just do not understand what all the malarkey about sleepers, they are all pretty much the SAME width (80" = *about* you look up the conversion to feet). to me, this sounds like you ain't a driver yet, because if you were, you would have KNOWN about sleepers.
whatever dude....good luck to you in your qwest for a sleeper. -
All of these sleepers should be the same width. I am 6'2" and have never had a problem with the length of any sleeper.ew2108 Thanks this. -
Rerun I was saying to the other guy they are small depending on the wheel base I work for Jb and we have the short sleeper and long sleeper models. I'm trying to say a drivers input is better than some stats because you can say a person this size will fit but that doesn't mean they will be comfortable, so talking with guys my height is more beneficial. I hAve truck options after I turn in the training truck but the trucks aren't on site so I have to choice to be brought in I've been local during all of my drive time so I wouldnt know about sleepers
-
well some sleepers are "small" in LENGTH, meaning not too deep. but all are the same in WIDTH meaning you WILL fit. then you do have "walk in" or "sit in" sleepers...personally, either a tall person or a short person, walk in sleepers are the way to go. but again, you WILL be able to stretch out in a "sit in sleeper", you go straight from the drivers seat into the sleeper, you do not really get a chance whatsoever to stand up and walk into one.
choose either truck, you will be ok...i DID read your blog, and see where you did drive for coke... -
I have a KW that has a mattress that is a little wider than one in my International. Both have 72" sleepers.
-
So I turned down both of those for a century why did I pick the century it had more space for all my stuff and even tho it isnt new its a excellent truck and I do fit in the bunk with room to spare they said ill be forced into a Prostar or cascadia in a few months because all the centuries are being retired or sold to lease ops.
-
but when the time comes, just take your "new truck" and run with it...too many people now are still driving very old trucks. -
I've noticed the amount of old trucks out here it appears the owner op guys are driving old equipment for the most part Stevens Transport has some nice new Pete 587 up this way.
As far as me upgrading as long as I can get a freightliner ill take it that maxxforce doesn't have the kick that the Detroit does
