Maybe if you work out and take care of yourself, you wouldn't be in this predicament.

No, not really. The potassium in bananas helps a bit but that's all. If your BP is high, you should absolutely be seeing a doctor as there are so many different medications for high blood pressure, it's hard to find exactly what might work for you.

It took me and my doctor 3 months to figure out what were the most effective meds for me.

You can add things to your diet to bring it down without meds. A dash of cinnamon and ginger in your coffee, a little red pepper and garlic in your food, eat a handful of nuts everyday. These things are easy to carry around and once in the habit you'll feel better and miss having them, plus it's cheaper and easier than doctors and meds. Hawthorn berry also works well for some people.

    FLCDL,
Get rid of things with high salt content and eliminate caffeine. Those are two huge contributors to high BP. I did those things without meds and brought mine down quite a bit. And last year I went for a physical, my bp was 155/105 or close to that. They only gave me a three month card and wanted to recheck my bp at anytime in that three months. Don't let some of these supertruckers scare you, the bp can be worked with by the majority of companies. Some have strict limits, most do not. And if you have middle of the road bp then see your doctor and they will most likely prescribe Hydrocholorthiazide. It's basically a water pill but it will help bring the bp down. Trust me, I know, I come from a family of truckers but also a family of high blood pressure too. And I'm not fat, I'm 6'0" 190. Hope this helps ya and good luck.

Mike', how many threads you gonna use that same line. Funny first time, not so much everyone afterward. JMO
