    Hello I have an Interview w/ Werner next week, I have no experience and I do not have my CDL. If I were to get hired what would I somewhat expect?

    Training length, would I have any say if Regional, Dedicated or OTR?

    I live in FL...What's the process for someone with no experience at all?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Werner isant a bad company. I'm about to finish training with them The thing about werner is there student is as only good as there trainer if you get a trainer that's just in it for the money your going to have a real sh*tty time with Werner during there training program. but if you get a trainer that is in it to make a trucker you could end up having a real good time. The training for Werner is 2 days of orientation than you have to log 275 hours of driving which could take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks than you have to take some more testing than you get assigned a truck than you start running solo... its as i said its all in the trainer you get.

    Werner does not do CDL training, you will have to do that through a school.

    Yep, Just called Werner;
    and the guy said They don't do CDL training *Sadly* but they'll help you on the back-end after you finish if you have payments to do; which most people could get the state to pay. which I only have 5 months left or so until i can get that started;

    but I think I'm going to go with Werner...

    I don't expect nothing, but I'll put in everything that i have :) So i'll be happy that things i get

    I did my training at Werner and had two really great trainers. Learned a lot from each one as they both had different styles of training. Had a "little" scare in the Rockies once time. At the time it wasn't a "little" scare but now when I look back on it, it was little, kinda... But I did learn from it. All in all the experience wasn't too bad. One good thing about Werner was that we were in fairly new equipment and that made the experience a bit nicer. I was pretty tired for the first few days and I think that was just the stress of doing something that I'd only dreamed of doing. I read a lot of negatives about Werner but it is about having a good trainer and learning to use the system. Just go with the flow. One very important thing that they will tell you... if you have problems with your trainer you need to let them know. If you do, you need to let them know. Best of luck!

    So basically you have to go to school on your own dime even if you have a job offer and then if you get hired they will pay you back for the cost of your schooling? And I guess you don't get paid while you go to school to obtain your CDL as well...

    I'm seriously thinking about it because I NEED income...from the beginning till end...I have a family

    I'm sorry if I'm coming off as a bit ignorant :)
