Short snubby hood or longer normal hood length?

    whats the difference or the point in a truck like the prostar or cascadia having a short snubby hood or longer normal hood.

    It also means more of the engine is crammed under the cab. Mechanics love them.:biggrin_2554:

    shorts hoods were designed to help keep steering wheel holders from running into things..

    lol got it so its a maneuverability change they look stupid to me i drove a M2 setup like that and it was always hot in the truck

    Yeah I know aerodynamic trucks have their advantages, but nothing will ever look as good as a traditional long hood with the external air cleaners, etc...

    There are tradeoffs with every different type of vehicle, long hoods are nice because they're easier to work on, ride better with an equivalent wheelbase, etc.

    Most of those short hood cascadias I see have a smaller DD13 in them, not the DD15. Just look for the little tag on them by the front of the door. I see them all in daycabs though no trucks with sleepers.

    Being a noob, what's the Kia and Caddy of trucks? Seems to me the Prostar is on the low end of things and the Westernstar is on the high end. I'm prob totally wrong. Thoughts?
