So this is my first post. And i want to take a minute to let everyone know that I've been "stalking" this site for a few months taking in all the information possible to help decide if this is really what I want as a career. I currently work a $8/hr job in surgery. After much research, and tons of debating on a career rather than a job...I just cant see myself anywhere other than on the road driving one of these monsters around the country all the while being safe and timely. I'm 24yrs old and live in Jonesboro,AR.

I'm going with Prime. I am to report there on Sept. 19. I've read many great things about Prime and look forward to learning everything there is to know about trucking first hand. I don't have any experience at all. But just the enthusiasm and confidence that I have knowing that this is truely what I want to do, has got me super pumped to learn and take in everything. I constantly read good and bad stories on here. But when it comes down to it, there really isn't anything that deters me wanting into this business. I'm all about a challenge. Hopefully I can meet a lot of you on the road and learn even more.

I just wanna say thanks to everyone who constantly posts. It's helped out tons just reading through everyones experiences. I wish you all the best and safe trucking! Hopefully I'll be seeing you all out on the road soon.

You will still be in surgery. Orientation has labotomy's scheduled to prime you into thinking how great they are. IP had to have his brains scrambled twice to become a team player...:biggrin_25523:

AK, I've been doing the same over the last month and might be right on your tail in another month or two. Prime looks like an okay place to gain your first year of experience. Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes! See you in the Prime thread

Congrats to you. Your choice and career path is about you and your new company and not about others and the past whether it be bad or good. Many happy miles to you.

Good luck man! You are going to get out of it what you put into it. Just because joeblow says the company sucks or a thousand drivers that have been fired because they can' t handle it doesn't mean that they are a good company. Keep in mind that more people complain then praise. Truckers are well known for it too! Enjoy your new career, stay positive, do your job and you won't have a problem. Maybe start a thread on your day to day training and orientation so that others can benefit from a positive experience. Be safe!
