It's funny how all of these guys that fail at this business call everyone "haters" when they even hint that the unemployable person may have had a hand in his own predicament.
Another thing to note is that no one who has all of these "incidents" and "accidents" on their record is ever at fault, they are always "framed" by the company and anyone that thinks otherwise is a "hater".

A large part of the O/P's problem seems to be "attitude" and an unwillingness to admit that perhaps he's not cut out for "big trucks".

Are you for real? Are you really 44 years old? Forty-four is about 20 years too old to be using terms like "hater" and spelling "cool" with a k. Grow up or ship out, already.

I noticed this too. The years have accumulated but the maturity level hasn't followed. It shows in the terminology, typing and failure to accept responsibility.

    Smitty,

Go local man. OTR has not worked out for you and may in the future but now is the time to let things sooth over. There are local jobs out there that you can get. I did OTR for six months and quit because of this reason. Yet found a good local gig that was meant to be. I wish you the best of luck in whatever you choose to do. Take some of these posts as advice rather than strike back. CC has nothing but valuable information.

Apparently, you've never eaten from one of the local roach-coaches in Laredo.

I took the time to read through this thread, Smitty sounds like he worked for USA Truck. 50 excuses why his driving life is damaged, for the foreseeable future, and 50 reasons why it's someone else who did it to him. When, by his own admission, HE DID IT TO HIMSELF! Either by negligence or his own failure to completly follow through with the appeal process to clear his record of inaccurate entries.

I see these people all the time at USA Truck and they all have the same theme to their story, at least the ones that are dripping with misfourtune and malcontent. "Look what the bad man did to me.....BE AFRAID, it will happen to you NEXT"! Really? I pick up trailers that have flat tires, damage, broken out lights at least 3X a week. I simply take them and get them repaired at the nearest repair facility, not even a terminal, any repair facility, I have never been blamed. So that part of Smitty's story not only is suspect, it is insulting to read because it attacks the very core of our intellect as a professional driver. We all know this portion of Smitty's story simply is not the case.

ATTITUDE the O/P has, but is it the right ATTITUDE? It's not for me to say, however, based on the responses by the O/P it might be the man in the mirror who is causing him the most difficulity. I work for USA Truck and believe me, somedays it is not easy, but is anything in this life? The story that the O/P has spun is such that anyone who reads it would think the trucking industry is the way he described it , which it is not. There are bad companies, but far more bad drivers. People look for reasons to hate their job and they will find them, same is true if they look to find reasons to love their jobs.

We all control our own destiny. If we make multiple mistakes, then maybe we should revisit the thought process that lead up to those mistakes and maybe do some re-thinking going forward? But at the end of the day, we are responsible for our choices, no one else, that's the great thing about free will.

I'm not an expert.....but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last nite! :biggrin_25522:
