MY OVER THE ROAD CAREER IS OVER... I HAVE 4 PREVENTIBLES ON MY DAC AND THERE IS NO COMPANY GOING TO TOUCH ME. 2 OF MY PREVENTIBLES WAS MY FAULT THE OTHER 2 WERE'NT ALL OF THEM ARE NON- DOT RECORDABLE 2 ARE MINOR BACKING WERE I RUB A TRAILER, AND SCRAP THE BUMPER.. THE OTHER 2 WERE PUT ON BY THE COMPANY AND CALLED IT EQUIPMENT..

THE LAST 2 TRIED TO FIGHT I CALLED DAC AND TOOK THE STEPS NEEDED TO GET IT OFF MY DAC. 1 OF THEM WAS A SWAP TRAILER I DROP AT A DROP YARD AND THE OTHER DRIVER TOOK THE EMPTY TRAILER AND WHAT EVER HE DID THEY CHARGE ME CAUSE THE SAFETY DEPT: SAID THE TRAILER HAD SOME DAMAGE TO IT.. THIS WAS 4 DAYS LATER..

THE LAST ONE WAS A LOOSE SATALITE ON THE BACK OF THE TRUCK THAT I INFORMED THE COMPANY ABOUT WHEN I GOT TO THE TERMINAL TO HAVE IT FIX THE SHOP FORMAM TOLD THE SAFETY DEPT: THEY THINK I MAY OF HIT SOMETHING IN ORDER FOR IT TO COME OFF THE WAY IT DID. THEY FIX IT TWO DAYS LATER I GOT A CALL FROM SAFETY TELLING MEO I WAS BEING CHARGED WIRH A ACCIDENT.

I DIDNT GET FIRED FOR ANY OF THESE LAST TWO (EQUIPMENT) INCIDENTS I QUIT... I BEEN FIGHTING THE LAST TWO WITH THE COMPANY DEALING WITH DAC I WAS INFORMED BY DAC AFTER TWO DRIVER REVIEW BOARDS WITH THE COMPANY. DAC SAID THE COMPANY WASNT BUDGING ON THERE DECESION AND THEY ( DAC ) CANT REMOVE THEM OFF MY OFF MY DAC..

SO AT THIS POINT MY O.T.R. CAREER IS OVER... DAC INFORMED THAT THE LAST TWO WILL SHOW UP ON MY DAC WITH NO DESCRIPTION.. THEY ALSO INFORMED ME I MAY NEED TO PUT SOME DISTANCE FROM THE FIRST ONE WHICH WAS IN 2009,, SO MAYBE IM LOOKING AT LEAST 6-12 MONTHS BEFORE I CAN GET BACK ON THE ROAD???? :biggrin_25510::biggrin_25510:

well that really sucks, sorry to hear about your bad luck,,,,, look into driving a limo,, dac does not matter. i started driving a month ago, i have 2 days off a week, home every night, and with tips i average $ 702 a week ( take home pay ),, not bad for driving people around all day.

Check with some of the smaller companies, they may not even use dac. Companies are aware that the dac is often used as a weapon. The biggest thing is when you talk to a company be upfront and make sure your story is close to what the company says.

If these incidents were as you describe, I am surprised they called them accidents at all. These would affect their insurance rates, so most companies are reluctant to turn an incident into an accident.

For whatever it's worth, you can also file a statement describing your side of the last 2 incidents that will be attached to your DAC. They should have told you this when you protested the entries. At least this way, you have your version to be seen anytime someone pulls it.

I don't know if doing so would be beneficial, but it may be something to check into.

Sorry to hear about it, bro. But you'll come through it - and who knows - maybe it'll even force a change that you'll end up being happier and more prosperous with

Anything you do to that truck while its in your possesion these company will pit it on your DAC.. if you blow a tire over a bed of nails they can tag your DAC and call it a preventible and if its not a wreck it will be placed on your DAC with no description.. (equiptment).

Smitty, you're claiming six year experience, yet you only got your CDL in November 2008. You walked out on a contract with Schneider on the same day you were to take a drug test. They won't touch you. You worked for CR England for six months and quit after the L/O you were teaming with was fired for log violations. You worked for an O/O leased to FedEx and quit that job after five months because you say he wasn't paying you. Then, you quit Arnold after acquiring four preventable equipment incidents within eight months. Most recently, you were on your way to Conway and that didn't work out either.

Perhaps your difficulty in finding work lies more squarely on your short-term employment with several carriers in such a short period of time.

Maybe trucking just isn't your gig. It just happens that way sometimes.

INJUN,,,,let me help you get a better understanding cause your way off when it comes to me... First of all i had my CDL SINCE 1999 class B i was driveing straight trucks ever since i got my CDL then in 2008 i up graded to class A cause i saw kats in my area driveing t/t local getting paid.. what i found out after i got my class A was the dozen local t/t companys i applyed to told me that i didnt have any t/t experience so they suggested that i go o.t.r. to obtain the experience..

Cr england was the first o.t.r. company i went to and would of stayed with them if they didnt lie to me like they do everyone goes to crengland... I applyed for a company driver position. Then after 2 weeks they told me they dont have any company driver positions all they had was LEASE POSITIONS,,, i wasnt ready for that being brand new to the o.t.r. industry..so i was leaveing but i met a IC/ PHASE 2 TRAINER..we talk and we hit it off he was looking for someone to ride with him and that can go balls to wall,,,,so we rolled together for six months untill he got fired from crengland for log violations..after that i left crengland..

As far as the o/o i worked with who contracted with FEDEX COSTOM CRITICAL..now that was kool he was from my area and he kind of let me run the show as a contracted driver the o/o made money i know i pick the loads... But i didnt.. and i didnt get paid and he
would tell me hes working with a new accountant and the time i work with this o/o i didnt get paid 8 times... So INJUN,, YOU TELL ME WHO WORKS FOR FREE???/ cause i dont it was a pay issue with the o/o..

With arnold they are a real kool company i got good miles made good money but the issue with arnold was 1. Massive issues with my truck arnold refused to replace my truck i was breaking down towards my stay with them 1 - 2 days a week the 2nd issue was when us express bought arnold out they did away with the NE REGIONAL,,, and when i ask for a dedicated run in my area ( home depot ) they turned me down they ask me to do 48 states super regional i said thats not what i applyed for.... So i left after 7 months...

So INJUN,,, dont say that o.t.r. may not be for me.... You dont know me after i got on the road i threw out the local idea out the window i wanted to run o.t.r. for next 10 yrs. Of my life the money is pretty good ( when you running good ) if the economy wasnt so,so,so bad i would be working local right now!!!!!!! But even with my local straight truck experience and my o.t.r experience i still cant find a local gig in my area..
