ugh, calculated my hours for this week and its lookin like 80 hours this week would be virtually impossible unless i purposely got myself stuck in the mud towards the end of a shift a few times this week lol. To be honest, getting 75 hours this week would be quite an endeavor. man, i had to bribe a driver who has my truck right now to come in at 3 with a 6 pack lol......actually i didnt have to bribe him, he said no problem but i said i'd buy him some beer for the appreciation. So what i did was tell him to take my truck every morning so i could call him in the afternoon to let him know when i wanted to start work so he can bring the truck in lol.

see boys, thats hustling, ok getting ready to blast off here in 3 hours and 19 minutes.

man, dude couldnt show up at 3, changed it to 4, went back to the motel with his 6 pack, put them on the hood of my car, they slid off and exploded except for two beers.....oh well, guess dude should have shown up at 3 lol.

met a new driver who started saturday from reading this thread, his screen name on here is truck971.

man, this is becoming too much work just to get a truck, if it turns out that there is too many drivers and not enough trucks and i cant get the hours in that i want, i'm out of here. If i'm gonna work, to me theres no difference between 12 and 15 hours, so i might as well get in all the hours i can, thats why i'm out here, i'm out here to make money, not to start a life.

i really wish i could have a truck thats just sitting there waiting for me and i'll put in those #### hours.

    ##### horrible shift, didnt get dispatched till 6. What irks the #### out of me is how dispatch sends my assigned truck out, meanwhile, i see other trucks just sitting there assigned to guys who dont put the hours in like i do. They should be sending those trucks out before mine, if mine gets dispatched after that, then i dont care, its best for the company. I should talk to my supervisor about this but if they havent figured it out already, i'd rather just ##### to myself. I can see the writing on the wall, i'm just going to snag any truck on the yard thats available or get run off or look for another company that will let me run like a bat out of hell. I never really talk about this but these 90 hour weeks i put in is a lot of hustling to find who has my truck and convince them to come in early. I got to wake up early and hunt my truck down, if i cant get it in, then i cant fall back to sleep, i'm telling you its a tremendous amount of work. Its appearing that its going to get harder with all the new drivers coming in, hell theres 7 new drivers coming next week. This isnt looking good but i'm sure the flow of life will guide me down the right path, i just KNEW all these hours were too good to be true.

so anyway, the trucking gods almost got me tonight, super dense, wet, drizzly mirky fog tonight. It was like driving under water through a swamp, i aint lying and i was blazing right through it, hoping (hate that word but its all you got in these situations) that a vehichle isnt stalled in the middle of the road with their lights off,

    ............or,

peterbuilt headlights coming straight at you, ##### idiot, thank heaven i was unloaded. I drove 60 miles through this stuff between 60-65mph, NO FEAR, i cant live in fear of what i can see, i can see enough of the white line and one reflector at a time, i know it sounds crazy and it probably is but i got confidence in what i can see even though its only 10 feet in front of me. I just cant slow down. I try to but its like lying to myself, i just cant do it, i'll admit its unerving as hell but you got to trust what you see. Regardless of all that, i seriously wonder if i'll survive 5 years of this, with that peterbuilt incident, ANYTHING can happen and theres not much you can do about it except for slowing down i guess but i cant do it.

i actually slept really good today in a LONGGGG time. i think conceding to the fact that this week is shot, it takes a load off your mind and it feels pretty casual. See, thats the thing, if i had a truck always waiting for me, then 90 hours would be a breeze because i could get myself on a solid sleep schedule and not have to burden myself with all the extra run around, once more, i dont even get paid for the extra leg work. Whatever, i accomplished some imediate goals, whether i hit the 3k check or not, it doesnt matter because i tried my best and did everything i could to make it happen. Like evel kneivel said, "where i come from, your word is your bond and it doesnt matter if you fail or succeed, just as long as you jump in and give it your best shot".......or something like that lol.
