i would just come out here and make yur 70 to 80k and at least see first hand if you can handle 80+ hours a week because if you cant handle workin 100+ a week, yur never gonna make 140k unless you find a needle in a hay stack job. bottom line, big gross per year means big hours behind the wheel.

i dont think 120 hours a week is sustainable for a year straight, let alone even having the work to accomplish that.

big boi roi, you know how i found my job?.....i was willing to work for much less and lots of hours, i didnt care what it took, i think thats a proper attitude to start out with because the clock is ticking out here. get out and work and keep yur ears and eyes open and in the mean time, make some money.

when i heard about runningman makin 23 bucks an hour, i knew i could find something similar because if someone is payin that kind of money, i'm gonna go get it even if i got to hypnotize an employer to hire me.

good luck, we all need it but we make our own luck as well, lets just hope the field keeps going for a while.

100% Right on the dollar; after the meeting this morning I shot back too the house to get some rest. Last pay period I had 140 hrs; after a while it wears on you. Its good to be gun ho but the days of me willing to do 200hrs a pay period every pay period have faded. 150 avg is good enough for right now lol... PS Paul I will be switching from Green Hat to Red Hat here lol. Maybe I won't and just keep the green so if I make a mistake they will let me slide :P

Paul, I was pullin for you when I first started reading this thread, it was referred to me by a friend trying to do what you accomplished. But towards the end of this thread it seems your "go deep" attitude has changed man. You only got what 9 months or so if I figured the thread dates correctly. Now you talking about crap pay but dude your still a newbie, 9 months aint ####, give it time and get the F out of Texas, Cali is a tough market I know, but I know very few folks who make more then me, except OFFSHORE them dudes F'in kill it, but I have kids and a wife I get along with...lol so not for me. I'm 36 with 18 years in this business 1 year when I turned 18 (dad knew the owner of a small outfit) Last 17 with the same company. Jump out of the truck bro and onto the rig and make some money, honestly man if your single, OFFSHORE!!!!!!!!! Ya theres no trucks but with your little experience you should be able to get on. I know worms who makes as much as me (driller)

Note: Not all drilling companies or crews work a gazillion hours.

I completely agree with going offshore!! I have a few family members doing it now and their paychecks are sick!! If you have a strong marriage then you will do fine!! But it is a single mans world out there!! Overseas pays way more than the US coastline ever will!! The trick is getting all the required certifications like Hazwoper, Huet, Twic, and a few others!! If someone like TransOcean takes you on as a Roustabout then they will put you through all the training!! Another good outfit out there is Diamond Drilling!!

Depends on what you are doing and where!! Off the US coastlines you are looking at $70,000+ and overseas you are looking at $120,000+ as a worm (roustabout)!! Crane operators do really well and assistant drillers and Drillers are make a killin!! My uncle wont share the numbers with anyone, but everything he has he paid for in cash!! And my cousin works as a ballast control operator on a drill ship!! He brings in 6 figures!! I want your job, Paulcouto!! Let me know if you are thinking to give it up!!

Paul any truth to the rumor that you rolled your truck when working at the Nabors Sonora yard.
