Never worked there but hired quite a few of their former employees at a previos company I worked for and I'd say Stevens may be one of the few companies that actually train drivers to be good drivers. That being said, I'd give Stevens my vote. Good luck!

I can't speak for Prime. Never worked there.
However, here are some questions to ask yourself and the recruiter in order to make an informed decision.
What issues are most important to you?
Most starter companies pay about the same, have the same hometime policies and go thru a lot of people.
Is where you live going to be an issue to getting you home?
(Stevens will not hire you if it is)
Does the company have APUs and Inverters?
    Stevens does. All trucks.
Does the company require you to throw chains?
Maybe not an issue if you're 30, but if you're 55+, I can guarantee you it is!
    Stevens does not chain.
What is the company's detention pay policy?
Is a rider's policy an issue for you?

Lastly, do yourself a favor and spend a day at the truck stop. Talk with every Prime and Stevens driver you can find. Tell them why you're asking. Most drivers will tell you how they feel. They're certainly going to be more revealing and honest than a recruiter.
    Good luck.

    Nycmex77 Thanks this.
