It is hit and miss, and depends 100% on the trainer you got.

I work for central and got a GOOD trainer, but not all had good ones, infact most had trainers that used the drivers for logbooks.

It is something you will simply have to deal with while you are training, the companies and the trainers are in the same line of thinking.... FREE TEAM DRIVER for a month......

I know for a Fact that US Xpress doesn't use u as a log book... Its against Company Policy, and there is Zero Tollerance for both the Driver and the Dispatcher...

The Trainer IS Required To log OnDuty Not Driving for every Minute your behind the Wheel, and if they don't They don't Receive a Pay Check because the logs are Audited Weekly for Trainers..

Dispatchers arent allowed to Dispatch over 3,500 miles a Week or they get write ups and eventually fired..

The training department here has a zero tolerance for that, but they Pay Well to follow the rules, and i heard yesterday from a trainer buddy of mine that they are upping the Training Requirement from 150 hours to 240 hours but i cant verify that until it happens

I heard on the radio this week that Prime puts 60,000 miles on a trainee with the trainer. I don't know if that is combined or trainee only.

Going through the math I come up with six months at 10,000 miles per month if that is trainee only. That would be ballpark figure, if is combined it would be somewhat less time.

CFI requires their trainers to be in the passenger seat on duty at all times when you are driving. Excellent company too.
