Bluetooth headsets??

Many states have laws again using your phone while driving without a handsfree device so I would definitely suggest getting one.

As for what type/brand I really couldnt say. Perhaps others could chime in with a suggestion

 

blueparrot. works well. IMO

 

Find a good one that will stay in your ear. I have tried several, but they are either uncomfortable or they fall out of my ear. So, I am looking forward to others answers here.

 

Some companies will tell you it is a fireable offence to talk on the phone..
if you are involved in an accident, they will likely want phone records..
That having been said, most folks use a bluetooth headset of some type..
You get what you pay for...
Some like an over the head, some like an over the ear...
Cheap ones are worse than worthless in a truck.

Kinda like a speakerphone...too much noise...
Better headsets have better noise cancling in the mic...
Expect to spend $70-100 for a decent one.
I am partial to plantronics...
Some like motrola, blue parrot or the brand dujour in truck stops lately, blur tiger....truck stops tend to price stuff 25-70% than amazon...get it before you leave.

 

I just went here and checked out the Blue Parrot that flying scotsman mentioned. It looks cool.

I bought Motorola H740's off of Ebay for $25 apiece. They use the same plug as my phones so I only need one charger.

 

I bought one, what a piece of crap. It was just loud enough to be able to hear the person talking if I was in a silent room. Never even tried it in the truck, I knew I wouldnt have a chance.

If I get another one it will be the headphone style, with the strap over your head. I hate the kind that just stick in your ear.
