My husband just started with CRST, he's been gone for 2 weeks. I have read and re-read his contract. It says he will get paid 26cents a mile but so far he only gets paid for half the miles. We can not live on this and I have no idea what to do.

Is he out with a trainer???? If he is running solo then He should be on the phone with payroll and his FM. There is really no reason to pull another load if he is not being paid what was agreed upon...

Yep mileage gets paid to the truck.. If the truck ran 4000 miles he gets paid for 2000 and his teammate gets paid for the other 2000. He doesn't get paid for all 4000 even if he drove all 4000 miles and his teammate slept.

    Welcome to team driving 101!!!!!

If he's just starting with the company give him time... he will begin to get raises in a few weeks.. gonna tell ya CRST is a great company if all the miles went to the team and not split.. if you was to decide to get your CDL and drive with your husband a couple could grab a load of cash. Its rough being a team and having to split the miles anyone will tell you that but if a team can bring it into one household ugh. Ex when you get time in top out is. 43 cpm times that by 2 = .86 cpm on a 4000 mile week 3440 for the week and that's not a week make it on a 5000 mile week 4300 now granted that's top out pay and if its a husband and wife driving. Give him time try to encourage him most drivers just starting won't do the big money without putting in time ... not saying they can't make decent money starting out but those jobs are hard to come by with no experience. The killer about CRST is finding a Co driver you can tolerate man the night mares but that's another time. Best of luck to your husband and to you it'll be a hard go at first but it does pay off in time.

Well I've been with CRST 3 times :biggrin_2559: got so bad the orientation instructor told my dad and I if we wanted we could hold the class lol. If he doesn't think he's getting anything like good training or being abused by his trainer tell him to start getting a hold of the trading fleet manager ppl do it all the time no matter how many trainers he goes thru if he thinks he is being messed over let someone know. If you have any more questions just ask away someone will try and help you I've been watching this site awhile and can see for the most part its as legit as it comes. Good luck to you guys

If he is a team driver then yes the pay rate gets split between your husband and his team partner. If he is in training to be a solo driver and they are starting him out at .26 cents per mile then he will only make $300-$500/week while in training. After training when he goes solo then he would make his .26 cents per mile.

CRST expedite doesn't drive solo they was straight team the three times we was with them. They pay based on your verified experiance ex. You may have one team where you might be at .32cpm and your Co driver be at .36 com thats how they can pay split miles.

    volvodriver01 Thanks this.
