 discouraged  i'm a newbie who started wereners trainer program about a week or two before thanksgiving.staid with the same trainer all the way threw xmas.he had 10years expeirience and a 750,000 mile sticker,so i figured i got lucky hooking up with such an experienced trainer.anyway,we got laid over on xmas day outside if chicago when i started to get chest pains,getting old i guess. my trainer takes me to the local hospital and they keep me overnight.when i get out of the hospital,werner puts me out on a medical tells me to get cleared by my doctor and sends me home on the old grey dog.i've been in contact with my student manager and she's been telling me that if i'm not back to work by the 25th that werner will put on my DAC tha i voluntaraly quit/ resigned. is this normal and am i being the idiot or is it them? what really ticks me off is that i only have about 25 hours left out of 275hrs of my training before i go for my testing to become a real driver! just thought i'd ask and see what some experienced drivers had to say.thanx in advance for the insight.  |

| Three questions: 1. Were your chest pains any grounds for preventing you from being a driver? 2. Have you been cleared by a doctor? 3. If you're cleared, when can you return to training? About the DAC, yeah, that's the threat they all use... though it seems strange to me that they could have it put on your record BEFORE you certify...

| reply from discouraged as far as i know the chest pains will not restrict me from being a driver and i can return to my training as soon as my doctor clears me,but he still wants to run some more tests before he releses me.i told my driver manager this and she told me the best thing to do is call recruiting and reaply when i get released. |

| Well, seeing as you appear to have a valid medical reason for interrupting your training, it seems doubtful that any negative action regarding your DAC or otherwise, can occur. Sounds like following the suggestion of your driver manager would be the best course of action. Be sure, however, to get any and all documents on your condition and release from your doctor and good luck!
