Accidents this winter I was just wondering if you guys out there noticed any particular pattern to the accidents due to the bad weather this winter, in terms of which companies' trucks were involved more frequently than others.

He or she has asked this same question on another site, and I will give them the same answer. It's the driver behind the wheel that controls the truck, not the name of the company on the trailer.

not only suv's,inexperinced truck drivers need to learn to slow down.I came out of st.louis one time in real bad snow storm.there was five or six of us running togeather going about 30 mph. then we hear someone on radio holler if ya cant stay with the big dogs stay on the porch, and he passed us(he was in a holland truck) I bet he was going 50 or 55.well about five or six miles up the road he was in the ditch,he was standing on running board looking stupid.everyone hollered at him and told him he should have stayed on the porch.often wondered if that taught him anything.

And you also have to factor in that of course you see more Schneider, swift etc trucks in wrecks simply because of the sheer number of them on the road

Thank you MedicineMan. If a company only has 5 drivers how many are gonna be in an accident within 2 years. If a company has 18,000+. You get the picture.

I tell you what has been difficult for me though thus far is grit on the windshield. And it only really happens when its just a slight sleet coming down and no water to wash it away. So then I have to use all my washer fluid and in my freightliner that means my driver side mirrors are gonna get covered with water. So if its below freezing that just means my mirror got covered with ice. What a screwed up design the new freightliners are with the mirror position.
