Good Average Mile Pay?

    I think you'll find that 0.25-0.30 is pretty average for most starting companies.
    Anything less and I'd look elsewhere.
    You should be 0.30 by the end of your first year (at least).

    Starting pay in the mid to late 1980's was .14 to .18 CPM.

    Are you pulling our leg?

    If you're serious, low pay is just the goal and end result of the fabricated "Driver's Shortage".

    You're not a Trainee, you're a Victim.

    Heard from the recruiter and it is .18 while with trainer and then .28 when I would go solo (if I accept this job).
    From what I am gathering there would be alot more miles during the training with the trainer so that would help???
    Thanks everyone for their imput as I continue to figure this move out.

    What company is this with? Dont worry about cpm as much as actual miles you'll be getting weekly, but the least you should take is 30 to start.

    I live in northeast Ohio and started out OTR at 25 cpm in 2003 and left OTR making 41 cpm. Now running linehaul and home everyday at 44 cpm with plenty of raises coming.

    .12 a mile bull**## thats not worth getting out of bed for,its sad the cost of living goes up and the pay goes down ,whats wrong with this picture,pretty soon people will be driving truck just to say they have a rolling roof over there head,sorry this just upsets me on pay:biggrin_25513:
