From what I'm reading it's a bad idea I wish the hubs would open his eyes & see that too but it's looking to be the only way for him to get back on the road like he so desperately wants he was in an accident 1.5 years ago and he's been persistent and everyone has told him no up until recently. I don't want this at all but he does :/

Anyhows is there a list of questions put together that should be asked? he's asked a few but I feel like we are missing stuff recruiters said I am more than welcome to call/email with my questions.

Thanks in advance :) All help is greatly appreciated!

If he is determined to do it the least he could do is get a copy of the lease and have an attorney go over it.

So nothing he has heard or read or you telling him not to has sunk in... Sharp is right have an Attorney go over it before he signs on the dotted line...

I *think* he does but like I said he's determined :/ He needs to get that clean driving under his belt. I just don't know what we should be asking to figure if one company is better than another of course they are all making it seem glorious but that's the recruiter's job after all :(

Tell him to drive as a company driver and then Purchase your own truck... Ive been an O/O for a very long time and i would never do a L/P with any company no matter how good they may seem... when you break down the lease payments..maint account...fuel..permits..plates...insurance...workers comp.and daily living expenses its not a good choice...by the time its all said and done company drivers are sometimes making more... In todays trucking you cant make it on 98 cents a mile.. they make it seem like your gonna be a millionaire when in reality 87 percent or higher go broke... tell him to think about it...

Unfortunately he hasn't been able to find a company that will hire him on as a c/d he rolled over his truck back in 8/10 it was his fault i posted in here about it back then. Ever since getting back on the road hasn't gotten off his mind. He applied at random times and would always get told no not enough time but now L/P is saying that he's good to go.

I just finished up an excel spread sheet with everything in it there's a point where it goes into the red :X he hasn't seen it yet cause he's sleeping currently works third shift. I'm hope maybe when he actually sees it on paper so to speak that will open his eyes?

I would say posting the contract here will get you a better review than any attorney.

L/P is the only option to owning if you have zero credit and no down payment.

But your hubs situation may be another one.

I have heard that KLLM is the best of the worst (not just cause I work for them). But there are some there that are not making it as well.

How is your credit? I have heard that you can get a "nice" truck out of california (that doesn't meet cali specs I guess) for relatively cheap. Run that for some years and bank all the money you can for an upgrade in the future.

Good luck, and asking all the questions you can, is the best thing you can do.

His credit is ehhhh it could be better but we wouldn't be able to get anyhows cause he's been contracting thruogh a temp agency at the company he works with now for almost a year & can't even get a car loan because of it :/ He leaves for orientation tomorrow. I'll post back when I get more info.

Really appreciate all the info :)
