| I haven't ever been dismissed, but I have seen it happen. Usually it is lack of disclosure on the part of the driver. Failure to tell the employer about a criminal record, drug use, anything on the application. If you leave it out, trust me that they will find it. Be honest, and you should be fine. Sometimes it's the company, can't put it all on the driver. A recruiter doesn't get paid to check you out, he gets paid to put butts in seats. Sometimes you just aren't qualified regardless of what the recruiter says, but the company doesn't know it till you get there and they do the big application and check on you. That is the problem with big companies and big orientation classes. They will put you in orientation before they know if you are qualified, too many people, too little time. Sometimes it's driver attitude. If you show up and have an attitude or are hard to work with, they may decide you aren't worth the hassle. When I was a company driver, I showed up for an orientation and ended up sitting next to a confirmed KKK member. He popped off at a black driver using the "N" word, and was on a bus home within the hour. |

Failed Drug Test: I never understood why someone does cocaine then thinks they will pass a drug test? Failed Road Test: Medical Reasons: You may not have been to the doctor lately and you find out during your physical you have high blood sugar (this isn't really a kick out reason, but it can hold up the process), bad eye's etc. Being argumentative about everything: The attitude it is going to be your way or you will quit etc. Just a bad attitude and consistently showing it will get you kicked out of a class. Doing something Sexually harrassment style and someone takes it to human resource, they may decide to term you then due to you are not even an employee (technically) yet. Getting Drunk on company property: Not reporting all tickets: Which the company should run a MVR before you come to orientation, but not all of them do that. If you notice the above most is the drivers fault they get kicked out and it is usually drug test or just plain bad attitude and class can't go on because of that one driver. Now below issue's can and do come up! The Recruiter did not do the pre-qualification correctly and now you are not qualified and safety can not over ride it. You are sent home and appoligized to and the recruiter "should" get their self chewed out and written up. That doesn't always happen. Make sure you ask ?'s before going and make sure you meet the requirments and if you don't speak up, because they may be over looking it and you won't find out until orientation. I have seen criminals come to orientation only for the patty wagon to show up! OUCH HUH! That's about the information I have for you |

| Well, I don't have to worry about drugs. I have a pretty darn good attitude, my blood pressure is under control. Have passed several DOT physicals since it was diagnosed. I guess since I've only had local experience, that may be the big hangup. |
| |||
| Well, alot of that may depend on the company. Some look at local experience as a plus. It is alot harder to navigate packed city streets than an open highway. |

| When I was at Stevens, we had one guy who was dismissed during Orientation because he kept calling the lady giving the sexual harassment lecture "babe".

| That was the company I worked for when The KKK member spouted off and was fired. Only good thing I saw that company ever do, but what do you expect when you recruit for the lowest commom denominator. |
| ||||
| Well, I guess they do have to keep up appearances. Can't have no Klansmen driving around in rolling billboards...
