I look for more and more truckers to loose their CDL within a yr due to the CSA.I look for more and more companies hart up for drivers and won't be so strict on their hireing and their policies because of all the laws now.Ive attended 2 orientations, one I didnt make it because I failed the physical due to high BP and there were only 2 of us in orientation. This last orientation which I did pass the physical, there were only 4 of us there.A few yrs ago it use to be companies can pick and choose now its the drivers.

Don't hold your breath Kemo Sabe. The "standards" are too low now. Too many wannabes should not be let anywheres near a big rig.
If you can't make it, deal with it and go somewheres else; nobody owes you a job.
Now, y'all see what the no-compete, everybody gets a trophy philosophy results in?

It's coming my friend. We're being used as test pilots for the new software and hardware now. They've just pushed it to you as "safety" equipment.
The actual "driverless" truck train test have been ongoing for years.
The sonar/radar controlled braking system used to prevent accidents. Designed for truck trains. We're testing it now.
Anti roll ... We're the test dummies. Gotta have that to monitor those trailers from the lead cab.
Rack and pinion steering. A necessity for fly/drive by wire technology.
Electronic fuel delivery systems. Required for multi-engine systems run in tandem. Lead truck provides the information to the following units.
Satellite tracking monitoring is required.
Call it science fiction. But it's coming. There are articles in print now. Just Google them

Blunt as I can make it..... anybody who thinks that the industry should lower the requirements to anybody who can manage to stagger through the door. I for one am fed up with watching everything dumbed down to accomodate the mopes and the losers. I'm sick and tired of having to work harder to cover their inept butts and repair their mistakes. I am totally sick of seeing the trade I've spent my life at turned into a refuge for the unemployable and inept. If that offends some Liberal POS tough. You whipsticks offend the HE toothpicks out of me by just breathing.
Now, if someone is serious about this line of work and willing to put the time and effort in; welcome and the best to you.
That plain enough?

Only because they get plenty of applicants that accept what they're offering. I'll be entering the industry in 2 months with a CSA score of 0, an IQ greater than 120 and a wealth of life experience. I will not accept an offer that results in my earning less than $50K annually to start.
