In this business, is there a such thing as a trucking company that pays a set weekly salary regardless of how many miles or how little miles?

what you mean mean you want to be paid for your time? HAHAHA!!! There are some out there but they are far and few between, and aparently they dont advertise to much because they seem to keep the drivers that they have.

Very few do. There are three main ways a driver gets paid. The first and most common is CPM. The second is percentage. This is when a driver gets a percentage of what the company gets to deliver the load. The third is hourly.

I get paid a weekly salary, but this is because I am a dedicated account driver.

So each week, I know exactly what I will be making.

Some companies, (I know an o/o I worked for also) pay a weekly salary.

But on average, either paid hourly, or by the run, or by the miles, sometimes also, by percentage.

I have seen couple companies offering a min. pay of $800.00 a week guaranteed.
Nussbaum is one, Can't remember the other

    Pulled from Nussbaum's web site

Weekly guarantee – we’ve got your back:

    • Our Truckload drivers have the security of a weekly guarantee of at least $800 – provided drivers are available for work the whole week. So when miles are a little short, traffic is bad, or you experience long waits, we’ve got you covered.

    Please read between the lines.

"provided drivers ARE AVAILABLE for the WHOLE WEEK".

What if dispatch says, "take tomorrow off" ??

or, "your truck needs to be serviced"

    Is anyone available those times??

ANd with things being what they are, if they do pay weekly as promised, but the driver stays out 4 to 5 weeks SOLID, can he complain??? Since he was "guaranteed" a weekly salary??

Does anyone seriously think they will pay someone a weekly salary and NOT WORK to make it all up??

    Southpaw7391 Thanks this.
