Hello, can I get some opinions and advice from you all?
I was taking the lowest dose of Xanax, as needed, when I got my medical card. It is listed on my long form medical card.
I am not taking this low dose of Xanax, but I do not want this to pose an issue with any potential employers.
Can I just go re-take my medical test and get a new card, and new long form, so I can lose the "Xanax" bit on my listed medications? Or could I just get a note from my doctor?
Any idea how I can deal with this?

Unless your planning on switching companies before your medical card expires, 2yrs, I wouldnt worry about it.
If you switch companys, have your DR give you letter saying you under his/her care and is no longer using this prescription - IF NEW EMPLOYER ASKS!!!
Never give more information than required if your not on xanax anymore anyhow.
If you were a recovered drug/alcoholic and sober for 10yrs, you dont have to tell everyone you use to be a boozer/druggy. No ones business. "Oh Hi my names, ****, im sober now 10 yrs and heres my application" lol...isnt "Hi, Im *****. Im responcible, curtious, dedicated and here my application" better approach.Lonesome Thanks this. -
I agree. I take prescription meds, and as long as the DR. signs off on it, I'm good to go.
Squirel Thanks this. -
A ton of companies won't like people applying that have taken or currently take anything other than aspirin. I would get another physical that shows no meds.
-
Or only prescriptions that are to control things that are part of the DOT physical. If you have high cholesterol and are meds for it what business is it of theirs? Or acid reflux? Or ulcers? Or can't get little Willy up? (Guess that doesn't apply to you.)Female Driver Thanks this. -
if your not on the meds no more just get a doctors note saying your not prescribed them anymore. You should be alright to get a 2 yr card but when drug tested it can come up. Dont cover it up and be truthful, if you are not on them they wont be in your system recently...

Thanks everybody.
I don't have a job yet, so I do have to show my long form to my new employer. I did just get off the phone with the Schneider medical people, and Xanax is allowed with them.
It may not be their business, but if I want to be employed by a company, I have to agree for it to be their business. As far as I can tell, with all these starter companies, you have to give them permission to go verify your medical history, no? -
Out of left field here, but a sleep apnea prescribed breathing machine is aprescription and sign off by DR.
What about new drivers applying with this?
A friend of mine has it and allot I know here. They never seem to have problem getting work here in AK. what about new drivers with these companies? -
I know its technically not legal but who or how is anyone ever going to know? A company that thinks they need to know everything little detail of you medical history is over stepping their bounds and I would not ever consider working for them. -
So should Crestor (cholesterol med) be reported?
