| I learned by actually doing and getting audited every month by safety where I used to work, I had lots of trouble with the 70, also had trouble with miscounting and ending up with a quarter hour over on the 11 or a quarter under on total break time. I now can look at my sheet and add up my hours without a calculator and I double-check everything. Split breaking is more difficult but one of the mods on this forum is helping people learn about that with Power Point presentations; she goes by LogsRus. Now, if my logbook is off, I check for exhaust leaks getting into the cab or sleeper, I've been exposed to that a few times now, and it impairs about anything you do including adding things up. It might take a few months or maybe longer before the light bulb comes on. If you don't split break at first, it is easier to pick up. AJ |

| THE light bulb clicks on at three or four months usually and after a year you truly understand the rules. Of course when they change the rules every two years it makes it more difficult but that's trucking. |

| i'll let ya know what i find out, about when you find out!!

| No need to appoligize, I am not sure why you are anyhow? By the statement did he mean so anyone could enter a name of how they learned? I guess I am being blonde (no I am not a blonde). I do feel special knowing I am thought of though! I am always here to help so please don't hesitate, there is no stupid question when it comes to logs! And I will work with you until you get it! It may take a few days in between work, dinner and cleaning! l.o.l. Thanks for the thoughts everyone: I feel special around here! |

I'm sorry guys. Please allow me to clarify. Many drivers (new & experienced) have learned valuable information concerning the industry, right here on The Truckers' Report, and many other online sources as such. Therefore, our thanks goes out to all of the Moderators, and one in particular LogsRus. I attempted to modestly suggest that maybe "online forums" or "the internet" in general be added as an additional selection for poll takers. Again, sorry for the confusion, and thanks.

Hey don't be sorry it is fine! I am sure many drivers know the regulations from someone else no feeling hurt here! I am always greatful and happy to hear I can help a driver learn something he/she struggles understanding! Many drivers pick up by reading the regulations and many can't pick it up until you spend hours with someone! I am interested in knowing how drivers learn the best! I need my own poll regarding this so I know how to help you! Dude: No big deal, don't let this bug you! Please take the poll everyone! I am interested in it myself! |
