Hey guys, I'm almost done with school! I will be taking my skills test some time this week. I'm super excited about it. Trying my best to remember as much of this pre-trip as possible. I got all my maneuvers down, but will be practicing one more time tomorrow. Last Wednesday we started road practice and will be doing more driving this week. I think I have decided on Prime as my first choice and McElroy as my second choice.

My examiner stood behind the trailer... Figured he would either move, or I wouldnt have to hear the whistle.

Most of the starter companies that hire you fresh out of school are so similar that the only major difference is the color of the truck. Make getting some experience your first year your main priority. Then, good pay, and benefits will come naturally.
You made a good choice going to a private school rather than going to a cdl-mill company. You'll owe no one, and be able to go where you want without a company trying to scare you into slaving for them.
Isn't that the school in Buford? If so, I almost went there, but went to the Ga driving academy instead.

Hello everyone, this past Friday I took my skills test at the DDS and passed. I also finished CDL training and got my certificate. I'm still excited, now just trying to find the best company for me. I thought prime was it, but it could be anywhere from 1-2 months before I can even get on a trainers truck. I don't have to waste like that. So I applied at Maverick. I'm hoping i'm within their hiring area for the glass division. I would not mind running for them. You guys have any recommendations for a good starter company?
