I am not trying to negitive but just how did you go about getting your
job? I asking because I'd like to know if it's the normal process or did you do something different to land the job. Please explain how the whole process was done. Did you go through the school or recruiter or did you use another way.
I'd also like to know if you would be willing to update me or us on what is happening once you get started. Whether good or bad it will help new drivers trying to come up. We are asked all the time and I know I would like to give solid answers especially for those making a huge family change. If the path you took is good or bad I can insure you that I will be very discrete. Thank You and good luck on youir new job.

I spoke with Crete today and they are finishing my background which I thought would've been done by now but with my construction history I can understand why it's taking them so long to research everything. I had a ton of jobs from 06-09 which I'm not proud of but just how the hammer hit. I went through a school.
So I guess within the next couple days I should officially know if I'm on...2 other students from my class are goin there and this was my top job for all the places I applied... Or I'm gettin hazmat and tanker and working locally

3500 miles a week huh....
We'll be reading about you hitting the ditch in about 6 weeks......
From falling asleep behind the wheel....
That pace is an accident waiting to happen.

Ok it was a bit of an exaggeration but I'd like to get the most miles possible and the least time off... Some people like to work and stay busy and drive. I've driven all over thi country figured I should get paid for it... And obviously different due to such a large vehicle but I learn quick and will not be the ### drivin like a nut like you see some do.

My standard answer for newbies..
During the first year expect little, settle for less, be happy with almost nothing, know it will get better
Good luck to you!
Welcome to the jungle.

Well put and thanks. Thinking I'm gonna get hazmat and tanker before I know what's truly out there as well... I know some local companies that hire out of the school I went to so we will see.

I was asking how you got your job because it sounds like you are doing what everyone else is doing. Either talking to a recruiter or using the computer. You'll NEVER know what's available to you unless you go out and see for yourself. But now I guarantee that you'll be wondring if there was better.

How do I avoid that then? Good point but I don't know how to go about much more as I'm new to this business.

Best question to ask a recruiter "Can you put that in writing?"
