| New to trucking looking for some advice first let me say HI to every one..... HI.... Ok I start my CDL class on the 26 of Feb and I am looking for a good trucking company to go to after I get my CDL. I live in Sumter SC and I am looking to find a company that is near me or Southeast region area. I would love to be home at least 2 to 3 day out of the week if possible, but still get about 2,500 to 3,500 miles in that week. I am prior military so I understand the demands on the body and sleep patterns all to well .The companys I am looking to so far are as following: Roehl Schneider US xpress Anderson's (ATS) Transport America werner (keep getting letters from them.. that could be bad) Ok saying away form Werner Mcelroy Oh has anyone heard of Gainey Transport Services? any advice would help greatly Thanks in advance Oh and the reason I would like some home time is so I can spend some time with my 4 yr son and wife. (wife understands the job... lol married me while I was in the military) Last edited by Razriel; 02.17.2007 at 11.34 AM. |

| I am going through TDI (Truck Driver Institute) based out of Lancaster SC. Now some companies have a reinburment for your school but I heard it does not come out of your pay. If you would like more on this just pm me and I can give ya the phone number I called to get on with TDI. Oh how long it the course where you are looking? |

| 43 hours of behind-the-wheel one-on-one training, 80 hours of classroom training, and 28 hours of SC-mandated observation time, so a total of 151 hours.
