i forgot how too use the calculator , been awhile, i think you put in miles driven for the day and that's what i put down for my avg speed for the day, or if running thru a 55 mph state, i lower too match the state, and i ran loose leaf log's, nice when you goof up , but if i go out again, i know i'll have anthor thing , too learn is e-log's , also anthor point too consider on your log's and the computer kicks back, for you to fix, is the time date on bill's don't match or the toll roads, little thing's like that dot look's for , if leave the shipper at 07;00 and you cross the scale's at 010;00 , you just got a speeding ticket in Ill, i know it a bad example.

working for DOT last summer, I took my breaks with the DOT compliance inspector in MN for my area. His biggest way of busting someone was comparing fuel or other receipts with logs. If the date/time stamps don't match, you are hosed.

It should also be noted auditors use software to check speeds between duty status changes . They don't just accept daily average speed . If you make a fuel stop during the day they will check the average speed before and after the fuel stop .

Overall a very informative post. However one possible clarification on the term "speeding ticket". Generally when cited for a RODS displaying a speed average too high the cite is for the state equivalent of 392.2. Many states for example use 392.2S for speeding (Example: They may use 392.2P for improper passing, or 392.2T for improper turns etc.). When written in this manner it is considered a violation subject to a possible civil penalty and is not normally entered on a drivers MVR. If written durring an inspection or after a crash it will have CSA value.

    Best regards

the coop i hate is over at Ind, the first coop on 65, right past the coop ,was the pilot on the east side, they catch lot's speeders leaving Gary ind, too Lowell ind it's not that far less then a hour, i was only doing 55 yet they almost nailed me 65, i think it's only 25 miles, but he let me off with a warning as the rest of my paper work was in good shape and i told him i just left the Gary truck stop, so i really dont know how you would log 23 miles , without speeding , in true time,

I do seriously hope you are not telling me to go pound sand. someone asked me for help, i did some searching, then copied/pasted and provided a link..nuff said..???

again, someone asked for my help, and i provided such, no more, no less.

i do not need to "clarify" anything, i provided a link. the information was there.

and what does this thing, "RODS " mean..?? can you not use the words for crying out loud...??

    Everett Thanks this.

I did not say you needed to clarify anything. I stated there was one possible clarification to your informative post. In other words I was offering more information on your informative post. Record of Duty Status.

Get up on the wrong side of the truck?

    Best regards

So are you implying that you're better, therefore, than drivers do do sleep in their truck? It certainly comes across that way.

when i was driving, i made sure i had money for motel room, you never know when your truck breaks down, or just too hot outside even with air on , barley keeping up, if i had time , i just get a room, oked by dispatch , then try too idle the truck on a 112 degrees day outside , even on day like , the night's are still hot out, i still like my truck bed better, most motels bed's for me are way too hard and stiff.
