don't forget the basics, voided check for direct deposit, ss card, dl, and most of all patience cause we all know orientation is the most boring thing in the world.

Thanks cerb What else do you all bring with you personnally. Such as to pass the time not driving or anything else that you could not live with out. I can think of many things to bring but I will not do most of it till I get my own truck obviosuly. Dont want to take over the trainers truck.

biggest thing you have to remember is your space will be limited. try not to over do it. if you can live without it for a few weeks then leave it at home. just bring the neccessaties.

I have been sudying up on everything including logging. I downloaded the cdl manual from michigan and have been reading that. As far as logging and the HOS I have been reading past posts and learning from what others have said. It definetley helps when every1 is willing to pitch in an idea and help those that dont understand it yet. The more I learn from you all on here the better I am feeling about schooling and orientation and such. Want to learn as much as I can now before I start then wait till I am in school and everything is coming at me at once.

1. pins, pencils, notebook 2. If you have one bring a CB if you are getting your truck right after class (always nice to have when you have questions when you are new and trying to get to a customer) 3. Something to keep you busy (after class it gets kind of boring after you do your studying) 4. sleeping bag (in case you are getting your truck right after class you have something to sleep in) 5. Your thinking cap, try to get much as you can from the class. It will pay off to ask questions and learn much as you can. (you will find that most just go because they have to, try not to get caught up with that crowed, If you are new to trucking then you need to take advantage of what they teach you. this is for your safety and not to mention ours) Good Luck! |
