And I thought that making $700-750 after taxes/medical with schneider was bad right out of school.

Truck driving school is a piece of cake. Living the trucking life style is not. Following the direction of others on a day to day basis mightd be hard for what it seem like a know it all as you come across on this forum. You are the reason why many don't train or quit training, but maybe you can hold your tongue for 6 or 7 weeks like a good older mature man. So hope you make it and find what you are looking for but this drivers market is what we call a bottom feeders market, and unless greyhound takes pets. you might not want to take your dog with you, because you may be doing lots of traveling and not on 18 wheels. Just saying guy. There's a lot of crooks in this industry and rookies are on the menu.

Thats DURING TRAINING. After youre paid per mile. What I posted is the MINIMUM you can make, anything over 6000 miles a week is paid at 10cpm or 12cpm. Which equals more than $500 or 600

WOW Dennis.....I need to give you one of my Captain/coke! What the Hell have I said that makes me a "know-it-all"?.....you obviously don't know me.
but since I got your attention.....which companies would you consider as (in your words) not "bottom feeders"?
And the last time I took a Greyhound it was taking me from Ft Benning, Georgia, to Jax after being in SE ASIA for 18 months and swore I'd never ride another one, so I'll stick to that promise I made in 1967, I have a very nice ride for me and my dog, thank you very much!

Look around craigslist and paper... there's smaller companies out there (only a few) that will have all that you want... but you have to find them (and look hard) they won't find you.

    Good luck!

That honestly doesn't mean you won't have a problem driving an eighteen wheeler dude.

There have been many guys with decades of experience driving everything but a rig, and they've been fired for accidents.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you can drive everything on this earth, but your still new when you climb into that cab.

Winter driving is known to bust a persons ego. Just be careful, don't get complacent, that's when stiff happens.

I agree with you, it's best to take some of these ranters with a grain of salt. I see PRIME all over FLORIDA and the trucks always look new and clean!
Does your truck have an APU and inverter?
I think I'll check into them, thanks!
