Digital over-the-air signals work pretty good even inside of truck if you're within roughly 20-30 miles of the broadcast towers (city centers). Beyond that, it's not too good, and better indoor or outdoor antennas are required. A lot too watch DVD's when the OTA signals are out of reach.

Most trucks use one of the CB antennas to get signal and it's wired to a coax in the back for the tv. A buddy of mine takes one of the lower profile outside non-powered antennas and hangs it in the cargo netting in the back. (Walmart at one point sold them for around $100) Says he gets ridiculously great tv signal now. I just keep Hulu+ or a few dvds on hand when I want to watch tv in bad signal areas myself lol
