Walmart Question
I won't start driving school for another month so excuse my ingeroance.
In my part of NC I have been seeing a number of Walmart trailers being pulled by US Express trucks.
With the large size of their fleet does WM still farm out or subcontract some of their hauling?

well to be quite honest about wally world, when i was an o/o leased onto a company out of wisconsin, wal mart would often hire us to do their DIRTY WORK for them, meaning they have an outside carrier deliver their groceries to the store so if it's late, they have someone to yell at & so on; they (wal mart) don't want to jeapordize their safety rating is why they hire alot of outside carriers to haul their groceries; i can assureu that u will definitely stay busy with them doing that; u will burn ur 70 up every week

Yes, WM uses outside carriers. They run a tight ship and utilize their own equipment to the max with outside carriers picking up the slack as needed. Here in San Diego, I see Schneider trucks especially pulling WM trailers as well as Swift and independents.

Wal mart used to be hard to get hired on at. So it would help if you know someone who works there and can put in a good word for you.

My husband and I driver a reefer so we deliver to a lot of Wal-mart Distribution Centers. It seems that different regions contract with different outside carriers. Most Distribution Centers have an area where their outside carriers park and we have seen US Express, Great Wide, Werner, Crete, and many others depending on the area where we are delivering.
