    Hello everyone,
    I am still new at some things and a parked regenerate is definitely new for me.
    I am driving an international, great truck, but the switch for "parked regen" does not stay up. Do I need to sit and hold this switch up for the regen to work? Also, does anyone know how long this takes?

    Thanks!!

    I've got a stupid question;

    If you are doing a parked regen and it takes 30 to 40 minutes. What happens if you are in a place with anti-idle laws and can't idle more than 15 minutes?

    By the way, cleaning those DPFs are messy, I saw a demo on the Donaldson's system and it seemed to limit the mess. Most of the cleaning was done with high pressure air and the second stage was heating the unit up to bake the filter clean.

    It will only do a parked regen if the parameters are correct for one, otherwise it will just do its regens while you drive. The "Parked Regen" switch is momentary (meaning it needs to be held in to start the process), but will only do so if a parked regen is required. A parked regen should generally take from 20-40 minutes. There should be a sticker on the driver's visor and/or an operator's manual that explains things more fully.

    I have been operating an International/ISX combo for two years and have had to do one parked regen in that time. Almost half my loads are over 80,000 though (up to 140,000 GVW), so I am working things a lot harder/hotter.

    If you are a company driver (or drive for a company) and you can not find the papers describing the process in your truck, then the company should be able to send you directions over the qualcom.

    Well, my company was able to...

    I'm in the middle of a parked regen now. My truck is a 2012 International with 323,992 miles and requires a parked regen once a week and it takes 30 mins to complete.

    Shouldn't need it that much unless you're doing a ton of idling and low speed operating. May be a faulty pressure differential sensor. They sometimes go bad and the only way you know is if you're suddenly needing parked regeneration all the time or its regenerating on the road frequently.

    It basically starts reading the pressure on the inlet side incorrectly.

    I had a guy parked next to me the other night at a rest area in TN doing a parked regen at 5 am. Woke me up, then I had to pee, so I ended up rolling out before he was done. He jumped out as I was pretripping and apologized. I only had 400 miles to go... So I got there early....

    I would be pissed if it woke me up. I am a heavy sleeper to begin with, but wake me up before I have at least 6 hours of sleep and I will be a grouchy little fool. Get me a soda, and a sandwich I am happppppy~!! haha

    Some trucks will automatically enter into a regen while idling.

    It ain't like someone knocking on your door, repeatedly.
