Another team question
Hey all, im sorry if my threads are becoming redundant, and im sure this has been asked a bazillion trillion times, but im thirsty for knowledge and this is probably the best source for information regarding the trucking industry that i know of so bare with me

I am looking for everyones opinion on some good well paying companies, for running teams, that also hire fresh outta school. US express looks promising, but theres gotta be some other options incase i dont get a prehire from them. Also, my buddy isnt a high school graduate and doesnt have his g.e.d. and im also not quite 23 yet so all those are a factor. As of now, we are looking into USX and con-way. Any other suggestions? Keep the above criteria in mind, thank you.

Don't worry about being a HS grad, that's the last they will ask.
As far as team driving goes..it sucks!! But being fresh from school, you need to do it, and it is like going to vegas. You may win and get a instructor that is good and worth spending 6 weeks with, but expect to lose, because you may not. If that is a factor, don't look to the big places that offer the world, you know, the most miles in a 'Brand' new truck. Stay away from them guys, you may have more skills then the clown they place you with.
Look into smaller guys with fewer trucks, they will treat you better, and you may want to stay there longer then some of the bozos that came to your truck school selling bull crud! I don't want to mention the bad guys, because there are many and so many get screwed because of stars in their eyes about those new trucks, but a red truck from Utah will promise you the most miles of any fleet, but never tell you about the sitting time you will have for 6 days. Remember, being paid by the mile is great if you drive the red truck 2200 miles, but after they let you sit for 6 days and getting paid by the mile, you just made, $42.80 for the week...good luck!
Ok, so you choose a carrier that is white with blue and they say you will make $450 a week..WOW Have you priced water at the petro? (i got it for 2 for 3 bucks the other night) But i went to crappy Subway to get a "5" dollar foot long and it cost $8.75 They don'y pay far these perks! Add them up! $450 a week....hahahaha, good luck getting drivers! Look around before eating the bait.

Remember the $450 a week is only during training. My wife and I team for USX and we net (after taxes and insurance) over $1,000 a week each. We are not rich but we are doing fine.
